With an extensive background in the restaurant industry, Brian Lewis brings his strong passion for hospitality and contemporary approach to modern American fare to the Atlanta market. His latest endeavor, BOCADO, will create innovative comfort foods, in a stylish, recycled space with impeccable service. BOCADO will dispel what belongs between two slices of bread and complementary small plates that will satisfy the tastes of those seeking simple plates with big flavor.

Most recently, Lewis owned TABLE in Birmingham, Ala., where he brought American comfort food to an upscale, yet casual, environment. He is well-known in the area as an entrepreneur who focuses on quality local ingredients and attention to detail while simulating an at-home dining experience.

His background and experience in the restaurant industry developed during childhood, with generations full of restaurateurs. Lewis’ grandfather owned Melba Café, which was credited in Fannie Flag’s popular novel Fried Green Tomatoes. His father owned several restaurants, as well as a vineyard and winery in Charlottesville, Va. During his collegiate years, Lewis shared responsibilities for the operations of the winery, including the management of distribution, events and tastings.

Lewis’ passion for food developed at a young age around the family table, where his grandmother taught him the meaning of hand-crafted, slow-cooked meals. His father strongly emphasized quality ingredients, which allowed Lewis to appreciate superior flavor profiles in a variety of foods.

Currently, Brian Lewis resides in Atlanta with his wife Karen and two sons, Sebastian and Tristen. Lewis spends his leisure time playing soccer, volunteering in the community and at his local church. His love of family coupled with his passion for food allows him to create a neighborhood restaurant with the perfect home away from home feel and flavor.
